Serving on the Board provides an opportunity to learn more about land conservation and to help work towards the goal of protecting at least half of our Eastern Shore lands. Without a concerted effort to conserve our lands, this special place as we know it will never be enjoyed by future generations. Whether we experience our beautiful landscape and open places gazing out from the car window, or during a secluded paddle, or a nature walk, or just abiding here with the knowledge that space has been preserved for nature in its abundance is reason enough to preserve.

Originally from the Philadelphia area, environmentalist Frank DiGialleonardo holds a BS from Drexel University and an MBA from George Washington University. He is the past president of the Corsica River Conservancy and former chair of both Maryland’s Upper Eastern Shore Tributary Team and the Queen Anne’s County Master Gardeners Program. In addition to serving on ESLC’s Board of Directors and its Conservation Programs committee, DiGialleonardo has served on the boards of the Chester River Association, the Queen Anne’s County Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, and Chesapeake Charities. In his spare time, DiGialleonardo enjoys hiking, gardening, sports, biking, fishing, traveling, and kayaking Maryland tributaries. He loves watching nature and the Corsica River from his family’s back porch in Centreville in addition to taking in the “blue, green, brown, and gold colorscape of the combination of open ag land, forests, and waterways” across the Eastern Shore. He says, “even its flatness is charming.”
