The strong sense of community on the Eastern Shore makes it unique. There are so many wonderful people resisting complacency and doing such great things to make communities thrive. There is also a natural beauty and quietness on the Shore which is why I am so proud to call it home. My time with ESLC has made me realize how special this region is and how important it is to be mindful about the decisions we make.
Currently pursuing her masters from Georgetown University, Kelly Simonsen is the Marketing and Communications Manager at Easton Utilities. A Towson alumna and Shore Leadership graduate, she has worked as a Director and Community Liaison for CASA of the Mid-Shore and Adventist Behavioral Health. In addition to serving on ESLC’s Board of Directors, Simonsen has served on the Boards of SOS Sink or Swim, MD/DC Utilities Assoc., and the Talbot County Chamber of Commerce. Originally from Howard County, Kelly now lives in Easton with her husband, two daughters, one dog, and two cats. She enjoys spending time with family and friends and catching the sunset on the Tred Avon River.
