My favorite view is looking out on the cove where I live. I like the diversity of wildlife and the flora and fauna. I feel pretty lucky that I live on a cove that shows me the wide array of diversity in this environment, everything that makes it feel so vibrant and alive. There is a connection of nature, the water, the Shore, and the people who are here that I think is very special and unique and deserves to be preserved and protected. I love how people take a minute to wave hello or stop and say hello when I walk my dogs. I love the congeniality. I love getting to know the people that are in my day-to-day life. It’s very different over here. The people make it lovely. They have a care and concern for where we live.

Currently the Head of Government Affairs for DoorDash, Kate Rumbaugh has more than fifteen years of experience in consumer products, public policy, public affairs, and communications, having worked in government affairs and consulting for Juul Labs Inc., The Rumbaugh Group, and Coca-Cola North America. Rumbaugh first became familiar with the Chesapeake Bay as a child—boating, fishing, waterskiing, and crabbing with her father when he was stationed in the area. Ever since then she has wanted to move closer to the Bay, and she is happy to have finally settled in St. Michaels where she lives with her two dogs, Theo and Finnan. In her spare time, Rumbaugh enjoys boating, gardening, walking, swimming, and photography.
